Mixing Prints

Mixing prints is not something to be taken lightly, but something to be taken seriously. If you do it well, no one will notice you mixed prints. The only thing that will stand out is how you styled this look amazingly. So, how unique is your personal styleimplicitly.

#VioletteTips: Mixing Prints

Monochrome, first. Prefer simplicity to the mix of color for the background.

Remember, we’re talking about mixing prints. Too much mix kills mix—it’s like alcohol!

Match the background color with at least one print.

Black prints shades for black background. Blue prints shades for blue background, and so on…

Make it pop—the second print.

Ex: black background, black prints shades and red prints as final touch. (Pop of red randomly :))

I wore black as a background, striped tee and animal print scarf as my usual pop of red.

I’ve recently fallen deeply in love with pattern mixing, pushing the boundaries as far as they can possibly go 🙂 lately, I’ve been experimenting with the same print but in different colours say shades of plaid or shades of grid, that sort of thing. I can’t imagine how and why I was so afraid of print and of colour in the past 🙂

    • Reply VioletteDaily March 1, 2016 at 9:07 am

I was afraid of mixing print but actually we should not!! 🙂 Have a nice day Sheela x
