Why Little Black Dresses Make Me Feel Like A Princess
It just so happened, and I’m telling you this very personal story: why little black dresses make me feel like a princess.
I’m dreaming about being a princess, who never wanted this when you were a kid?!
Little Black Dress Again
First you’re probably tired of my little black dresses, I know I can’t get enough of them… Since this summer, I just discovered a passion for dresses. Not just any dress, but especially the black ones. I don’t know but there is something so princess-like made for Parisian girls (so cliché but so true, I’m the living proof of that!).
Actually there is nothing to explain precisely, I think it just has a lot do with what happened in Shanghai almost four years ago. You can read more here if you missed it.
The Reason Why…
When I was in the hospital I wasn’t paying any attention to me: no makeup and tee-tracksuit-sneakers all day everyday. I couldn’t even care about my hair because…because they shaved my hair for all the surgeries I had. It’s the WORST feeling any girl can endure, I swear. Now, you understand why I’m obsessed with my hair!
… I Feel Like A Princess
One day, I woke up at the hospital and told myself “V, you can’t stay like this. It’s not because you only have a half bone head and your hair is so short that you are not beautiful”. I didn’t trust any of this but start to do makeup everyday, it was so hard to see myself in the mirror though. Then, I started to dress a bit better better everyday. Each day I really needed and tried to do my best to feel as beautiful as a princess.
As I mentioned above, I love wearing LDB lately! I feel so different and like another women! I feel more feminine in dresses and heels than in denim and sneakers! You know what? It’s like feeling Cinderella when she turns into this pretty lady going to the ball to meet her future prince!
I’m realizing more and more every day how this tragic story is deeply touching me. I’m also surprised to see how dressing up, doing my hair and makeup is a huge part of my well being.
