Food Photo Shoot At Côme

February 19, 2016

After discovering this Parisian salad bar (seen here), the Côme team kindly ask me to come and enjoy a food photo shoot at their restaurant!

The behind the scene food photo shoot at Côme.

I’ve always been very curious to know how restaurants managed to get such attractive pictures! You know, this kind of pictures once you see them you’re getting crazy! I’m seriously craving for these yumness screaming “eat meee”. It was so hard to control myself in front of so many fresh fruits, vegetables and toppings!

I think the most important key to succeed your photos, either food or flatlay, is the styling and light (more than anything!!)—without forgetting the great vibes! Of course, you can edit after. But always better to take a picture with the right balance between too much brightness and not enough, and same for the white balance. The photographer felt really comfortable and under control with that.

I suggested an açai bowl, and they gave me carte blanche to create it. Trust me I was so excited (it’s getting an obsession) but under pressure at the same time—failure is not in my vocabulary, haha!

Let me show you the backstage of a food photo shoot at Côme! 🙂

How fun is this!! I think it’s so interesting to see the behind the scenes, we normally get to see all the pretty pictures afterwards but I’ve always wondered how they are captured!

OMG!! I can’t believe they have a mini ‘studio’ in a box thing for food shots!! The food photos taken during media tastings here do not provide such equipment! We have to find spots with best lighting to take our food photos and some ended up pretty yellowish due to bad lighting.

Thanks for sharing this with us V – it’s soo cool 🙂

    xoxo, Aldora
