A real love at first sight with Shanghai.
It’s funny how I keep thinking about Shanghai and at the same time so happy to live in Paris.
I mean, when I was living there I just had some of the best moments of my student life and I stayed long enough to create this strong link between Shanghai and I. I still can’t explain why.
Each city has its own advantages and drawbacks, differences and similarities, and, this stuff we do love or not.
I really have some unexplainable feelings. Like being astonished by every single thing, and it causes something on you. And when you’re not there, you miss these things as much as your first morning coffee. We all need some astonishment in our life, 对吧*？A nice reason to go back once again, right??? 😁
I love walking in the streets, especially these very typical streets where you see Shanghainese making some 包子** or 点心***… I could spend the day seated on a chair and watching them! Seriously, it’s so interesting and funny to see how big the difference is between their culture and ours.
I just feel this need to come and go, say hello—or rather 你好****, take the best of this hyperactive city to refuel myself.
PS: It’s like I had to break up with this city and writing about help me to get through it. Like a therapy! Haha!
*对吧?: Duì ba, right?
**你好: Nǐ hǎo, hello.
***包子: Bāozi, small bun stuffed with meat, vegetables, or custard.
****点心: Diǎn xīn, pastries.
